The Challenges
The client had issues while running data on the Netezza data warehouse. Some of the issues were – complex architecture spread across disparate systems, slow ETL pipeline leading to frequent SLA miss, data quality severely affected, high dependency on aginity due to their hosted solution integration with enterprise and other 3rd party systems. Legacy system misfit for the organizational objective of the next-generation architecture, etc.
The Objective
The US-based chain of beauty stores wanted to retire their existing Netezza data warehouse platform and migrate to the Google Cloud Platform.
Solutions
Datametica solved the above challenges of the client by migrating their Netezza to Google Cloud Platform (GCP). We delivered the project within 10 weeks with a defined schedule and resource structure. Some additional deliverables were:
- Rapid Assessment using Eagle to structure the movement of workload, users and data to GCP.
- Foundation to set up Solution Architecture, Cloud Provisioning (DevOps), Security, Governance, CI/CD pipeline.
- Data Model made compatible to Google BigQuery.
- Migrate from Aginity/Netezza to GCP.
- Data reconciliation between Netezza and Google BigQuery with Datametica Pelican.
